On this new entry to the Alien franchise, I was responsible for the creation of various effects, reaching from simpler particle simulations to complex fluid sims. I was heavily involved in the creation of various fluids relating to the Alien (Drool, Blood). Further tasks included creating and rendering various background elements (Smoke plumes, dust, clouds) as well as thrusters for one of the ships.
A big emphasis was put on optimizing fluid setups and reducing sim and meshing time. I also created a rain setup for maya.
Software used : Maya (particles), Houdini (Flip sims, clouds , rendering), Nuke.
